An Arizona State University graduate, Dr. Hammett earned his doctorate in osteopathy from Midwestern University, in Glendale, Arizona. He completed his family practice internship and residency training with John C. Lincoln Health Network.

Dr. Hammett's special interests include wellness, preventive care and the whole spectrum of family medicine. He adheres to the principles and practices of osteopathic medicine, including manipulative therapy.

Dr. Hammett is on staff at John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital, and is board certified by the American Osteopathic Association.

John P. Deuel, DO

Dr. Deuel received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1995. He completed his residency at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center, Johnson City, NY, in 1998.

His professional experience includes practicing in Pennysylvania, New York, Korea and Arizona. He holds board certifications with the National Board of Osteopathic Examiners and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Deuel is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is licensed in New York and Arizona.

Dr. Deuel joined Gavilan Peak Family Practice in May 2011, and welcomes new patients.

Internship: Family medicine, Phoenix General Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz., 1988.

Fellowship: Residency program directorship, American Academy of Family Practice, Kansas City, Mo., 2005.

Board certification: American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Clinical interests: Family practice and urgent care with particular interests in chronic illness, back pain, sports medicine and women's health issues. Dr. Williams also served as program director of the Family Practice Residency Program at John C. Lincoln for several years.

Philosophy of care: "A holistic approach to health care. Mind, body and spirit are all important in maximizing health."

Hobbies and personal interests: Hiking, camping and sports.
