John C. Lincoln Names 2011 Physician Honorees

Four members of John C. Lincoln's medical staffs were honored in mid-March through John C. Lincoln's expanded annual physician recognition program.

The program, instituted last year, was designed to spotlight a wider variety of contributions, accomplishments and service by members of the medical staffs at both Network hospitals and medical practices.

Eligibility for all these awards is based on service to the John C. Lincoln Hospitals and community; excellence in leadership, ethics and individual achievement; and excellence in patient care, customer service and patient satisfaction.

Here are the honorees:

Aaron Wittenberg, MD

Deer Valley Hospital chose interventional radiologist Aaron Wittenberg, MD, as its 2011 recipient of the Distinguished Medical Service Award.

This award honors physicians practicing patient care who are outstanding clinicians, demonstrate excellence in medicine or surgery and represent John C. Lincoln's mission and values in the areas of leadership, mentoring, excellent patient care and customer service.

Criteria also include being competent, caring and compassionate, with good communication skills; being highly esteemed by colleagues and co-workers; being respectful and responsive to patient preferences, needs and values; avoiding waste of equipment, supplies and energy; and fosters an environment of collaboration, collegiality and teamwork.

Brian Sidoti, MD

North Mountain Hospital chose hospitalist Brian Sidoti, MD, as its 2011 recipient of the Rising Physician Leader Award. This award honors physicians within the first eight years of professional practice after residency and/or fellowship training for outstanding achievement in the areas of leadership, mentoring, excellence in patient care and customer service within the John C. Lincoln Health Network.

Criteria also include being competent, caring and compassionate, with excellent communication skills; providing innovative and effective leadership with respect to decision making and improvement in the efficiency and deliver of care through application of clinical systems tools and techniques to improve physician workflow and productivity; demonstrating creativity, initiative and commitment to making a difference; acting as a positive and effective role model for peers and colleagues; avoiding waste of equipment, supplies and energy; and fosters an environment of collaboration, collegiality and teamwork.

Joining Dr. Sidoti for the March 15 ceremony in the North Mountain lobby were his wife, internal medicine specialist Jacqueline Olmert, MD, and their three young sons.

Justin Wight, MD

The Physician Network chose Dynamite Creek Medical Center family physician Justin Wight, MD, as its 2011 recipient of the Rising Physician Leader Award.

Dr. Wight was joined for the March 15 ceremony by his wife, Sunny, his mother, Janice McCrea Wight and his grandmother, Lois McCrea.

Dr. Wight joined Dynamite Creek Medical Center in January 2010. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in North Brunswick, New Jersey, and completed a family practice internship and residency at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition to his training in family medicine, Dr. Wight also has experience in urgent care, wellness and weight management.

Ludmilla Pyter-Kabat, MD

The Physician Network chose family physician Ludmilla Pyter-Kabat, MD, from Gavilan Peak Family Practice, Anthem, as their 2011 recipient of the Distinguished Medical Service Award.

Dr. Pyter completed her medical training and internship at Wroclaw General Hospital, Poland. She conducted a research fellowhsip in internal medicine at University of Southern California, and completed her residency at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.
