John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital Ranked in Arizona's Top 12 Hospitals in 2012

John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital has been ranked 12th in the state and 10th in the Valley in this year's U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals edition. U.S. News & World Report's annual listing of top hospitals is among the most respected of all national rankings.

The report ranked six services at North Mountain as "High Performing" compared with hospitals nationwide: diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology and urology.

Eleven physicians on staff at North Mountain were selected based on a peer nomination process and included on the list of U.S. News Top Doctors.

They are urologist Al Borhan, MD, pain management specialist Stephen Borowsky, MD, cardiologist Warren Breisblatt, MD, pulmonologist Robert Comp, MD, vascular surgeon Curtis Erickson, MD, internal medicine specialist Lawrence Gassner, MD, rheumatologist Benjamin Harris, MD, urologist Michael Hayyeri, MD, otolaryngologist Ben Leff, MD, cardiac electrophysiologist Mark Seifert, MD, and breast cancer surgeon Victor Zannis, MD.

Patient satisfaction at North Mountain also significantly exceeded state and national averages:

  • 75 percent of discharged patients said they would definitely recommend the hospital to their friends and family, compared with an average of 69 percent of patients statewide and nationally who said they would do the same.
  • 72 percent of discharged patients rated the hospital overall as the highest or very high, compared with 67 percent of patients nationally or statewide who were equally pleased with the care they received.

John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital has 266 beds and offers a complete range of inpatient and outpatient care, including the most sophisticated levels of general robotic surgery. It is part of John C. Lincoln Health Network, a not-for-profit organization that includes two hospitals, two dozen primary care and specialty physician practices and a spectrum of charitable community service programs that have served the people of North Phoenix for more than 80 years.
