US News & World Report published its first ranking of the best hospitals in a metro area.
Of the 48 hospitals in the Valley, 15 made the list, including John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital at No. 9.
To be ranked in its metro area, a hospital had to score in the top 25 percent among its peers in at least one of 16 medical specialties.
