Everyone agrees getting a massage feels great, but did you know it can benefit your body as well as your mind? Medical professionals agree that massage plays an important part in managing stress, can be a major component in many kinds of physical therapy and is a proven benefit in the management of chronic illness.
Swedish Massage is a full-body, relaxing massage. It uses long, gentle strokes, some deeper friction motions and small movement of the joints. It is the most commonly known and used massage technique.
Therapeutic Massage uses deeper strokes, deep kneading and usually focuses on specific muscles that are injured or causing problems and pain.
Deep Tissue Massage involves strokes and kneading work that are very deep and specific to break up adhesions and tight muscles.
Sports Massage includes therapeutic massage along with range of motion work and postural analysis, sometimes linked to a specific sport or activity.
Reflexology is a deep foot massage. The feet have thousands of nerves, making them very responsive to the sense of touch. The theory behind reflexology is that the body and its parts are reflected through the feet.
