Our nurses are busy caring for patients, and we help care for our nurses' careers through a number of education and professional development programs.
Student Nurse Advancement Program (SNAP)
Student Nurse Advancement Program (SNAP) is a program for students enrolled in a nursing degree program. Through SNAP, nursing students can gain clinical experience while earning a salary, and work flexible schedules allowing them to attend school. SNAP employees start as a Student Nurse Tech I, then advance to a Student Nurse Tech II, and finally a Nurse Extern in the last semester of school. Each level offers increased opportunities to learn new skills, and students receive a salary increase with each level.

College Nursing Programs
We are taking innovative steps to ensure nurses have continued opportunities for career development and growth through College Nursing Programs. Qualified RNs can grow through our RN to BSN program, and pursue a master's degree, both through our partnership with Grand Canyon University.
Specialty Training Courses
If you would like to expand your training to include specialty areas, we offer on-site courses in areas such as CCU, ED, Telemetry and OR. These courses count toward Contact Hours and help prepare you to sit for the credentialing exams.
Clinical Nurse Educators
Clinical Nurse Educators are a critical part of nursing education at our hospitals. They hold a master's degree or are in pursuit of their master's. They teach classes and workshops; orient and train staff; offer precepting, mentoring and facilitating assistance; and make available CEU-eligible programs.
Annual Nursing Leadership Retreat
Each year, our nursing leaders, charge nurses and those serving on Shared Leadership Councils gather for a day of professional development and growth. During this retreat, nurses participate in self-evaluation, learn about leadership styles, hear guest speakers and enjoy a wide variety of team-building activities. The retreat is provided at no cost to participants.
