Recognition Programs

The satisfaction that comes from knowing you've done your job well is rewarding in itself. Still, we all need to be recognized by others too.

We understand that acknowledging our co-workers who go above and beyond their daily duties creates a happier, more satisfying work environment. We recognize our employees with a number of awards and special events.

STAR (Special Thanks And Recognition) Award

The STAR Award recognizes both clinical and non-clinical staff, volunteers and physicians for going above and beyond their typical job duties and making a significant difference in one of the following areas:

  • Improving the quality of health for those we serve by providing excellent clinical services.
  • Helping the organization financially by suggesting or implementing a process that saves us money/resources or increases revenue.
  • Improving productivity significantly by suggesting or implementing a better way of providing services.
  • Exceeding our customer service standards with patients, clients, guests or co-workers.

Award recipients, who may be individuals or groups, are nominated by co-workers and selected quarterly. They are recognized and honored at a Leadership Council meeting with a plaque and monetary award which they can redeem through the JCL Rewards program.

JCL Rewards

This program offers employees recognition and rewards for helping John C. reach and exceed our goals. Managers can give employees rewards for outstanding achievement, team success, customer service, safety, ideas for improvement and for individual milestones.

Employees can redeem their rewards right away at a variety of online and local stores, or they can choose to bank their rewards to save for a larger purchase.

Nurses Week

Each May, during Nurses Week, we honor and recognize our nurses for their hard work and dedication in caring for patients and their families.

Guest speakers present lectures on a range of topics, and staff are encouraged to nominate a John C. nurse for Nurse Week magazine's Nursing Excellence Awards.

In addition, all of us in nursing receive special gifts as a token of appreciation, and each day of Nurses Week holds a special celebration for nurses.

Nurse Exemplar Award

The Nurse Exemplar awards at John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital were created as a way for our nurses to recognize the nursing achievements of their peers and colleagues. Nurses are nominated each spring, and the nominations are reviewed by a panel of North Mountain Hospital registered nurses. Winners are announced during Nurses Week each May.
