Introductory Asthma Management Classes for Parents
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 6.5 million children are diagnosed with asthma each year in the United States. One of the most important things parents can do to manage their child's asthma is to work with their health care provider to identify and minimize exposure to asthma triggers.
The asthma clinical educators are offering free classes on the second Monday of each month to help parents manage their child's asthma.
During the one-hour course, parents will be educated on:
- Understanding asthma "triggers" and how to avoid them.
- Medications and their use to reduce symptoms and attacks.
- Designing an action plan to manage their child's asthma.
Classes will be held in John C. Lincoln Medical Office Building 1, 19841 N. 27th Ave., Room 400, Phoenix, on the campus of John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital.
