About Christopher Salvino, MD,
Medical Director, Level I Trauma Center
Chris Salvino, MD, has served as medical director of the Level I Trauma Center at John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital since 2006. He is honored to guide trauma care for his community and honors John C. Lincoln’s commitment to developing a world-class trauma center. In Dr. Salvino’s point of view, if a member of his family were in a car accident, he would want them to receive care at John C. Lincoln’s Level I Trauma Center.

Prior to joining John C. Lincoln, Dr. Salvino provided stewardship for the trauma department at Good Samaritan Hospital, in Downers Grove, Illinois. He founded the hospital’s Level I Trauma Program, served as its medical director, and was co-medical director of its intensive care unit.
Dr. Salvino has pursued professional training and graduate studies in aerospace medicine, in civilian and military settings alike. His spirit of volunteerism led him on a mission to Somalia, with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), and to Bolivia and Kenya, with Joliet Diocese. He is currently president of charitable trauma foundation Medquest.
Dr. Salvino earned his M.D. from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He also holds three master’s degrees (in aerospace medicine, from Wright State University; in flight test engineering, from National Test Pilot School; and in space studies, from University of North Dakota) and two bachelor’s degrees (in mechanical engineering from Kennedy-Western University; and in biology, from University of Notre Dame).
