As the children's emergency center at John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital, Mendy's Place cares for our youngest patients.
Named for John C. Lincoln's lovable mascot, Mendy's Place is the only emergency center in the North Valley staffed, designed and equipped exclusively for kids. We are proud that Mendy's Place has repeatedly ranked in the top 1 percent nationwide for excellence in patient satisfaction.
Ready to treat a wide variety of injuries and illnesses, the center features child-size medical equipment and furniture, along with brightly colored decor. Our medical staff is also backed up by the emergency physicians in the separate but adjacent Emergency Department at the hospital.
And like the young patients it serves, Mendy's Place is also growing: In February 2005, a major remodeling and expansion of the center was unveiled as part of the $48 million expansion of John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital. As a result, Mendy's Place has nearly doubled in size, increasing from seven beds to 12.
An expanded waiting area - with cheerful murals that include a life-sized three-dimensional tree - is a welcoming place for patients when they arrive. Another highlight of the center is that none of the beds are separated by curtains; all 12 rooms are private.
