39th Annual Night of Gold Ball
a Chart-Topping Success!
John C. Lincoln Health Network thanks all of our generous attendees, sponsors and volunteers for making the 2008 Night of Gold Ball—also known as "Motown Gold"—a record-breaking event!
Held on March 1, the John C. Lincoln Health Foundation Guild’s 39th annual Night of Gold Ball broke two records this year. Attendance surpassed 720. Funds raised totaled $375,000.
This edition of the Night of Gold Ball was the first to be held in the new Grand Ballroom at the Camelback Inn. John C. Lincoln was founder of both the Camelback Inn and the John C. Lincoln Health Network. Members of the Lincoln family joined executives from the Camelback Inn and John C. Lincoln Health Network to cut a blue ribbon, opening the Grand Ballroom and starting the party.

According to Elaine Hugunin, executive vice president and CEO of the John C. Lincoln Health Foundation, funds raised by the event will be used to "further the work of the John C. Lincoln organization by enhancing the capabilities of the health care network and advancing the care of the people we serve in our community."
In the past, projects funded by Guild grants have included the Advanced Wound Care Clinic, where patients can receive expert wound care, and an outreach program through the Children’s Dental Clinic. Children at local elementary schools are screened for dental problems, and are taught proper dental hygiene.
"It's particularly exciting to see how an event like this can truly change lives," said Lisa Bruns, chairwoman of the event. "Last year, 19 programs and projects were funded through the Guild's Gold, ensuring the delivery of medical and community services that might otherwise be delayed or financially impossible to provide."
